SO YOU WANT A DOBERMAN

So You Want A Doberman
Before we talk to you about Jones, an Oklahoma Breeder of quality Dobermans, we ask that you do a little homework first if you are truly interested in a Doberman puppy.

There’s a wonderful site called Everything Doberman Online Community. It’s loaded with all kinds of information concerning Dobermans. We’re only going to point out two pages we encourage you to read. You can certainly look at the rest when you have time, and we strongly suggest that you do. The first page is titled, “Doberman Pinscher Breeders to Avoid.” Why do we link to this page? Because we feel the information is important for you to know. We want you to keep this information in mind when you’re reading information we give you. Compare us to the types of breeders on that page. We want you to know the difference because if you’re looking for a Doberman puppy you will definitely run across the types of breeders mentioned there. When you’re through with that page take a look at what the site has to say on the page titled, “What Makes a Good Doberman Pinscher Breeder.” Again, as you read through our site, compare Jones Dobermans against the qualities discussed in that article. We care deeply about the Doberman breed and we want you to care just as much. They are a wonderful dog, a loyal companion and you could not get a more loving dog than a Doberman. Once you’ve read these articles, take a look at our testimonial page. These are people who have purchased a Jones Doberman and written back to us about their experience. Other than removing their last names, we have not altered the text of the e-mail in any way. Even if you do not eventually get a Jones Doberman you will be much better prepared in your search by reading the above articles. Jones Dobermans is located on the breath taking 5acre lot with lots of trees and running space for our Dobermans to play. We are family owned and run. We are a small breeder compared to some and what sets us apart is the true love of the BREED. We Have picture on facebook of us playing with our dogs, taking them to the lake and on the boat with us.

Jones Dobermans ALWAYS allows you to see the puppy you want as well as your puppy’s parents. We encourage you to come see the parents of your pup. We want you to watch them run, see how well socialized they are, and even throw a ball for them. Okay, Okay, they may not bring the ball back to you. They’ll probably start a game of “chase me and I might give it back to you!” and that’s the dobie’s way of teasing us slower humans, but that’s the playful nature of our dobies. We’re working on the returning the ball thing! Please be sure to check out the videos we have on our dogs page! We encourage you to see the behavior of the parents of your puppy so you know just what your Doberman can become when it grows up. Also, check out our FAQ links for more information on how to choose a Doberman puppy.

Doberman Breeders

Some have criticized us for saying both parents should be on site. Let us give you an example why we believe, strongly, this should be the case when you’re obtaining a Doberman as a family member and not for the show ring. Suppose you’re visiting a breeder and one of the Dobermans is acting aggressively towards you or your child. Assume it’s lunging and snapping. What are the chances a puppy from this parent will share that disposition? Is that what you want for your family pet? Now assume that parent is not on site but still has that same disposition. How would you know? Be very careful of any breeder that does not have both parents on site or has any dog you cannot approach. Look at the puppy’s parents carefully. Are they friendly and playful? Are the Dobermans you’re seeing active and athletic, enjoying you as a new visitor and excited to perform for you? Do they have a certified genetic screening? Are they healthy? Are their vet records up to date?

Success! Message received.
