If you sign up for our notification list we will let you know when a breeding takes place. Being placed on the notification list in no way obligates you to select a puppy.
Both parents of every litter are on the premises at all times for viewing. We are very proud of our stock here at Jones Doberman and welcome all visitors to inspect our adults. They are friendly yet do naturally guard the property so call to be sure someone is home.
Health Certificates
Jones Doberman will not sell a puppy without an Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection from our vet! You are guaranteed that at the time of your purchase you have a healthy and happy puppy. For specifics please see our sales contract.
In addition, every puppy from Jones Doberman is DNA tested through Vetgen Veterinary Genetic Services or Vetnostic Labs. This means you will receive, in your puppy package, a certified DNA test. You will know exactly what the genetic deposition of your puppy is in regards to Von Williebrand’s Disease.
If you are buy a Doberman Pinscher it is important to know about Von Williebrand’s Disease and whether your puppy and parents have been tested. If you are purchasing a Doberman puppy that has not been tested, or from parents that have not been tested you run into the risk of your dog having severe medical issues.
Please see the chart on vWD page. According to Vetgen, if you do not know the status of both parents you have a 75% chance of your dog being either a carrier, or worse affected. We strongly encourage you to avoid breeders who minimize the importance, frequency, and heartbreaking impact Von Williebrand’s Disease has on Dobermans. Please read about Von Williwbrand’s Disease and the risk your puppy might face.
No puppy at Jones Doberman Ranch is in the affected status of Von Williebrand’s Disease.
Considerations When Selecting a Doberman
We are a dedicated breeder of beautiful and well socialized Dobermans. We say this several times throughout this site. However, the breeding of excellent Dobermans is only the beginning. Do you know what the largest and most important item in the life of a wonderful, well, adjusted Doberman is? You! We write here about what some of the considerations of owning a Doberman are. However, there is a site that we have found that is an absolute gem of information. Before you read the remainder of the site please do yourself a favor and visit the Everything Doberman Online Community, especially the Develop a Doberman Pinscher Puppy Plan page. These folks cover everything from soup to nuts and don’t gloss over any negatives, like cleaning up after your puppy. There will be puppy messes! You can read about breeders and what makes a good one on this site. You can read about family responsibilities, Doberman care, how to buy a puppy, what you can expect to pay, and much more. What we like about this site is they are saying the same things we are saying but they go into much more depth. Once you have read about Dobermans come back and see that we are upfront and honest about our dogs and the Doberman breed.
They are not for everyone and we don’t want to sell to everyone. We want our puppies to be happy living with you and we want you to be happy living with our puppies. We take pride and caution when placing our puppies. As a responsible breeder it is our job to find the best home for our dogs. We are not a puppy mill. We care where our puppies go and how they are doing after they leave. We welcome pictures and emails from new owners.
